This weekend was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I went to two concerts this weekend.
The first was the AP Tour on Friday 10/16. I went with my boyfriend, his dad and his stepmom. Mayday Parade, Real Friends, This Wild Life and As It Is played. I have seen Mayday Parade this weekend for 5 out of the past 6 years this weekend. They were my first General Admission show in 2009. I formed entire friendships from that band. They’re so special to me. It was also my boyfriend’s dad and stepmom’s first time seeing them and they loved it too! I’ve included some pictures that his stepmom took below.

This show was just so much fun. I forgot how great Mayday Parade was, and I hadn’t seen them in a few years, so it was like seeing something entirely new again. Real Friends, on the other hand, I’ve seen 4 times in the past year and this was the best set I’ve seen from them in a long time. The crowd was just so excited and into it that it made the whole thing just so much better.
Then on Saturday, 10/17, we saw my favorite band in the entire world: The Wonder Years. I only have one picture of the band to include because I spent most of the set screaming and crying. It’s Sunday night now and I still have no voice. They mean the world to me. I’ve seen them 10 times and it never gets old. They’re so genuine and excited and psyched to be there every time I see them. It was the first show of the tour, and I’ll be seeing the last day of the tour as well. I just love them so much. They played my two favorite songs (You in January and I Just Want to Sell Out My Funeral). But every song they played was so incredible. They just hit home with me. They were the first band my boyfriend and I ever saw together, and I’ve built friendships on this band too. Motion City Soundtrack, State Champs and You Blew It! also played, and were amazing, but I was there to see TWY.

My best friends
These were just the 2nd and 3rd shows of the Fall Concert Season (I have ~5 more before December). I am so stoked to be able to see all of my favorite bands and have a great time with my friends. These are the best years of my life, and I should be loving every second of them right? I couldn’t ask for better people to be sharing these memories with, or better bands to be giving me a reason to have these memories.
I’m writing this in a TWY crewneck, with a Real Friends tee underneath it. Needless to say, I will cherish them forever as memories of this weekend.
We’re such goons, thanks for being my concert buddy for four and a half years.
